Said Benrahma reacts as West Ham United finalise last-gasp transfer
Former West Ham United man Said Benrahma and on-loan ace Maxwell Cornet have sent a message to outgoing Hammers captain Kurt Zouma.
The defender posted a heartfelt goodbye message to his Instagram account (31 August) thanking the London-based club for his time playing for them.
Zouma only has a year left on his West Ham contract and will spend the remainder of it with Saudi Pro League side Al-Orobah [Santi Aouna, 30 August].
Benrahma wrote, “You want to make us cry” whilst Cornet said, “Thank you for everything you’ve done for me capi, all the best.”
Kurt Zouma’s West Ham United exit is a good move for the Hammers
Following a rather hectic transfer window, Julen Lopetegui finally managed to get rid of club captain, Zouma.
Since the start of the summer transfer window, there have been rumours floating around regarding the future of the Frenchman due to his poor form last term.
Along with Nayef Aguerd, who has now joined Real Sociedad on a season-long loan deal, the duo managed to contribute to one of the worst defensive records in the Premier League.
In fact, of all the Premier League teams last term, the Hammers ended up with the fourth-worst record in the league which shows how poorly they performed.

Lopetegui’s men look far stronger defensively this term with the likes of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Max Kilman both being added to the club’s ranks.
Only time will tell where the Hammers will finish in the Premier League this season, but, one thing is for sure, they’ll be far better off without Zouma leading their defence week-in and week-out.
In other West Ham news, it has been shared that the Hammers made a last-ditch attempt to sign Jhon Duran before the 11 pm deadline.
