Richard Keys warns player against West Ham United transfer

Richard Keys has warned Eintracht Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush against joining West Ham after being linked with a move to East London.

The Hammers have drawn up new plans to sign the in-form 25-year-old, as per GiveMeSport, but are expected to face competition from Newcastle United for his signature.

Links to Marmoush come as no surprise, having blown the Bundesliga away with eight goals in his first six matches, adding another to that record via a penalty against Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday 19 October.

Speaking via beIN Sports on Saturday (19 October), Keys said: “He was linked with West Ham. If I’m him I’m setting my sights a lot higher.”

Omar Marmoush to join West Ham United?

Marmoush would certainly be a welcome addition to Julen Lopetegui’s team, or any young striker who can replace Michail Antonio at the top of the field.

While the Jamaican is still running himself into the ground for the Hammers, he is often behind the play and unable to get into the game properly.

Danny Ings has yet to earn a starting spot under Lopetegui, and with Niclas Fullkrug still on the sidelines through injury, a new striker signing in January would not be totally out of the question.

Marmoush is currently the leading goalscorer in the Bundesliga, ahead of the likes of Harry Kane, Lois Opensa and Victor Boniface, so the Hammers will not be the only team after his signature.

However, he has now been warned against joining the Irons as a route to the Premier League, and it is difficult to believe many players would want to enter the current chaos at the London Stadium.
