Report – West Ham starlet pleads for January loan exit
West Ham winger Dan Kemp has pleaded for a move away from the Hammers this month, according to Football Insider.
The 21-year-old wide man has yet to maker a senior appearance for the Irons, despite impressing immensely for the U23s this term.
The England youth international has 10 goals and four assists from 17 matches so far this term.
But the player believes that he needs regular senior minutes to take his game to the next level, and has subsequently asked to be sent out on loan before the end of the January window.
The Hammers are said to be looking at potential League Two destinations for Kemp, with the player reportedly unwilling to go to a non-league club.
Is this the right move for Kemp?
Absolutely, yes.
The youngster clearly has bucketloads of potential, but he is never going to properly realise that unless he’s playing first team football on the regular.
The best way for him to do that is to go out on loan, and it’s actually quite pleasing to see a young player with the drive and hunger to actively request a loan opportunity.
We’ve seen how well moves like this can work for the likes of Grady Diangana and Josh Cullen, and with Nathan Holland and Connor Coventry also heading out on loan, there’s no reason why Kemp shouldn’t be afforded the same chance.
