Report: Tammy Abraham offered to Borussia Dortmund amid West Ham links

Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham has reportedly been offered to Borussia Dortmund amid reports linking him with a move to West Ham.

The Blues are hoping to use him as a makeweight in their bid to land Dormund’s star forward Erling Haaland, per The Daily Mirror.

There’s also interest in his services from Aston Villa and West Ham, but the England international prefers a move to the London Stadium.

The two Premier League clubs are battling to sign the 23-year-old either on loan or on a permanent transfer while Dortmund are unwilling to lose Haaland in the same window as they sold Jadon Sancho.

Good news

Chelsea’s improbable pursuit of Haaland opens the door for Abraham moving to the London Stadium this summer. It’s clear that he’s not too highly rated by Thomas Tuchel and would be shown the door by the Blues if the right offer arrives at their doorstep.

We’ve needed a striker since January and failure to get one has seen us rely on the likes of Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen to lead the line.

West Ham

Jesse Lingard’s purple patch on loan helped ease the goal-scoring responsibilities, but these kinds of performances can only do so much and we do need a proven number nine this summer.

However, Chelsea value Abraham at £50million which seems to be a tad steep for a player who struggles to make the matchday squad and has only two years left on his deal.

He could be young and has a high ceiling so the Blues are hoping that someone is willing to take the punt on him.

While it’s unlikely that we sign him at that price, a fee in the region of £30million could suffice as a striker is a top priority this summer and Abraham fits the bill perfectly.
