Report: PL giants send most-trusted scout to watch West Ham ace v Sheffield Utd
Manchester United have been interested in West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice for quite some time.
The England international has been linked with a number of clubs, but well and truly remains an Irons player.
Rice impressed once again when West Ham travelled to face Sheffield United on Friday, and his involvement in the second goal led to the equaliser being ruled out by VAR in the 1-0 defeat.
The Daily Mail has reported that Manchester United were in the stands watching Rice in South Yorkshire, as they have set aside their top targets.
It is suggested that the Red Devils sent their most-trusted scout to the game, who then reported to Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer after yet another impressive outing.
According to the report, Solskjaer is building up his report on the 21-year-old ahead of a potential move in the summer – when Rice is expected to be involved with England at EURO 2020.
West Ham fans will have their fingers crossed that Rice will remain at the London Stadium beyond this season. Should he leave, they won’t have many other options in the heart of midfield.
Mark Noble isn’t getting any younger, and with Carlos Sanchez, a player who isn’t exactly impressing – David Moyes would be lacking in options should Rice be snapped up.
