Reiss Nelson to make Arsenal exit call amid West Ham United transfer update
West Ham-linked Reiss Nelson wants to assess his options after Arsenal’s pre-season tour of the United States, according to Dharmesh Sheth.
The Sky Sports journalist reported on the outlet’s live blog (29 July, 13:34) that the Hammers are keeping an eye on the attacker’s situation while Leicester City have already held talks with the Gunners.
Nelson is understood to be eager to stay in the Premier League where several clubs are eager to secure his signature and will therefore consider his next move once he returns from Arsenal’s pre-season tour.
Reports have suggested Julen Lopetegui’s side has already submitted a £15million bid to sign the 24-year-old, but Leicester are confident they’ll win the race because of his relationship with Steve Cooper [Sunday Mirror, 28 July, page 68].
Will Reiss Nelson exit Arsenal amid West Ham United transfer rumours?
While the Hammers won’t want to wait too long to see if Nelson is keen on a move to the London Stadium, they may have to be patient if they want to get their hands on their man this summer.
Lopetegui has already bolstered the Hammers defence since arriving in East London and now he has turned his attention to the top end of the pitch with a new number nine still expected to be the top priority.
Nelson may not be able to slot into that centre-forward role, but he would offer a different dimension to the Irons attack from out wide if Tim Stediten and his recruitment team can win the race for his signature.

This is a deal that has the potential to move quickly in the next couple of weeks once the Gunners’ pre-season tour is over. If Nelson does decide to depart the Emirates, West Ham are in with a shot of coming away with his signature.
Hopefully, the 24-year-old won’t keep Lopetegui waiting for too long, otherwise, the Spaniard will simply have to turn his attention to alternative targets.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers have reportedly agreed a deal for a massive upgrade on Vladimir Coufal this summer
