Real Madrid ready to sell West Ham United-linked Brahim Diaz as £17m transfer update emerges

West Ham-linked Brahim Diaz is available to be signed from Real Madrid for €20million (£17.4million) next summer, according to SPORT.

The Spanish publication reported on its website on Monday (23 October) that the La Liga club are ready to sell the player for that fee.

And according to TEAMtalk, Premier League duo West Ham and Aston Villa are interested in the 24-year-old attacker.

“The man from Malaga, who has a contract until 2027, is beginning to consider finding a way out with Ancelotti in charge,” according to SPORT. “The Premier League and Serie A follow him and his price is affordable, 20 million euros.”

TEAMtalk noted: “Aston Villa and West Ham are both interested in the attacking midfielder, so we could potentially see the two Premier League rivals battle for his signature.”

Summer move on the cards

As is the case with many Hammers targets, the East London club will not be alone in their pursuit of Diaz, who has played just over 100 minutes for Real Madrid this season.

The attacker is clearly surplus to requirements at the Spanish giants, having also spent plenty of time during his spell there on loan at AC Milan.

But a switch to England may give the forward a new lease of life, and the Hammers could certainly do with a new player in that position.

They do have the likes of Jarrod Bowen firing on all cylinders, while Mohammed Kudus was brought in from Ajax in the summer and has enjoyed his start to life in claret and blue.

But Hammers fans would not say no to another attacker as the club look to compete on all fronts, with a big and talented squad needed to do that successfully.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers want to sign an international midfielder in 2024, with three other clubs interested in his signature.
