Ray Parlour predicts West Ham fans to go into meltdown as ‘worst case’ Jarrod Bowen scenario raised on air
West Ham are sleepwalking towards relegation, and it could impact Jarrod Bowen’s future.
Nuno Espirito Santo has been unable to turn around West Ham’s fortunes and looks to be on thin ice in terms of his job security.
The Hammers sit four points away from safety, with a crucial clash with Nottingham Forest coming up next.
The uncertainty over the London Stadium outfit’s Premier League status could lead to an uncomfortable situation when it comes to their star man, Bowen.

Worst-case scenario for West Ham as Jarrod Bowen exit claim made
Bowen is hoping to get in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad, for the upcoming World Cup tournament, and surely getting relegated would not help those chances.
Jeff Stelling questioned live on air whether the 28-year-old would depart his beloved Irons this month to secure a spot on the plane for the competition.
Speaking on talkSPORT on 5 January (08:59 am), he said: “Worst case scenario, during January, Jarrod Bowen is West Ham through and through, we know that, heart and soul puts into it all the time.
“Could he have one eye on the World Cup, and think if I am in a side that is getting relegated, that is not going to do my World Cup prospects any good, could he put himself before the club?”
Ray Parlour did not like the suggestion, saying: “No chance, there would be a proper meltdown if Bowen gets sold in this January window, that would be the last straw for West Ham fans.”
Could West Ham sell Bowen in January?
Parlour is right, there is absolutely no chance that the E20 outfit allow Bowen to leave this month, even if that is what he wanted.
David Sullivan and Karren Brady are under severe pressure from the fanbase, and they cannot afford to make any mistakes in the transfer window.
- The board have acted quickly to seal deals for Pablo and Taty Castellanos to bolster the attack
- Pablo has already arrived, while Castellanos’ arrival seems like a matter of time
- Selling Bowen would undo all that work, and put the Irons in a grim position
Selling Bowen, who is the Hammers’ most creative player on his day, would be unforgivable and would only add to the toxic atmosphere in East London, with fans already wanting the board to go.
It is unfathomable that they could sell him, it would not be worth their while, even if the financials were too good to turn down.
The Hammers are not relegated yet, if they lost the Three Lions ace, they would be basically consigned to relegation, such is his impact.
