Ravel Morrison reacts as Winston Reid bids farewell to West Ham
Ravel Morrison has sent his best wishes to Winston Reid after it was confirmed that the defender has left West Ham.
On Tuesday night, the Hammers confirmed that they had agreed to terminate Reid’s contract at the London Stadium to allow him to pursue a move elsewhere.
Reid took to his personal Instagram account to thank the Irons faithful after his exit was announced and former Hammer Morrison was among those to reply.
“Legend, quality player and person. All the best on your new adventure,” said the ex-West Ham midfielder, who now plays for Derby County, in the comments on Reid’s post.

All the best, Reidy
It was in the best interests of everyone for Reid’s contract to be terminated because he’s simply not getting a chance at all in David Moyes’ squad.
The New Zealand international has struggled a lot with injuries over the years and he’s been overtaken by a lot of other centre-backs in the pecking order while he’s been away on loan at Sporting Kansas City and Brentford.
We’re sure that Reid will be able to find a club elsewhere in England based on him doing quite well on loan at Brentford in the second half of last season.
Reid made 11 Championship appearances for the Bees, with one of them coming in the play-off final as they won promotion to the Premier League.
If he can get into Brentford’s team then he could probably get into another Championship club’s squad – if he wants to stay in England, that is.
Reid’s previously played in Denmark and also had that stint in the States with Sporting Kansas City so we wouldn’t write off a move to the MLS either.
We’ll be interested to see how Reidy gets on elsewhere.
