Rashford transfer: West Ham to accept £87,500-a-week Man United deal
West Ham United have now “thrown their hat” into the ring regarding the transfer of Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford, according to Graeme Bailey.
The journalist reported via the TBR Football website (9 January) that while a permanent deal isn’t on the cards, the Hammers are interested in making a loan move for the attacker.
Man United would need to cover three-quarters of the Englishman’s salary which equates to just over £240,000.
If a move is to be sanctioned, other clubs such as Juventus, AC Milan and Bayern Munich are all also interested in acquiring his services so the Hammers could face a tough battle to sign him.
Marcus Rashford would be an immense first signing for Graham Potter at West Ham United
Now that Graham Potter has finally taken over from Julen Lopetegui as the Hammers’ boss, he has just over two-thirds of the transfer window to try and bolster his ranks.
Although West Ham spent an awful lot of money in the summer, it feels like further reinforcement is desperately needed if they want to finish the season in the European places.
One of the Hammers’ main downfalls this term has been their attack and with star man Jarrod Bowen now out for numerous weeks, it feels like the Hammers are going to lack a bit of punch in their attack.

Granted, Rashford hasn’t been in the best form of his career over the last couple of seasons but it feels like he’d be a much better option up top than the likes of Niclas Fullkrug and perhaps even Mohammed Kudus at the moment.
Bringing the Englishman to the London Stadium would be a massive statement on Potter’s behalf and would prove that he means business in the second half of the season.
