Raheem Sterling finances covered as West Ham short-team deal mooted again
Raheem Sterling could soon be on his way to West Ham.
Sterling has previously been linked to West Ham, as a move to the London Stadium has always seemed like a possibility.
The ex-England international is now a free agent, and that has once again sparked rumours surrounding a potential West Ham switch for Sterling.
West Ham are in a position to sign Sterling, but there will be questions over his wage demands and what sort of level he sees himself at.
Now, Gabby Agbonlahor has spoken out about Sterling and whether an East London move could be on the cards in the coming weeks.
Raheem Sterling finances assessed after Chelsea exit
West Ham completed four first-team signings in January, with Axel Disasi coming in on deadline day to round off the window.
The new faces have enhanced Nuno Espirito Santo’s options and have allowed the Irons to play a more attacking brand of football recently.
Their business may not be done quite yet, with a deal for Sterling able to be completed at any time due to his free agent status.

The winger has had a tough time in recent seasons, with spells at Chelsea and Arsenal being a far cry from his Manchester City days.
There will be plenty of interest in his signature, and Agbonlahor has questioned whether a stay in London could be preferred, especially after picking up a sizable payout from the Blues.
Speaking on talkSPORT, the former Villa man said: “Recently, there were reports that he wants to stay in London for family reasons. I’m surprised if he’d want to take his family over to Napoli.
“I look at Sterling, he’s 31, it’s no age to stop playing. He got paid off by Chelsea, he’s probably got a year’s money upfront.
“Just go and play somewhere and enjoy it. Would he go and play somewhere like West Ham or Fulham? Short-term deal until the end of the season, break into the side and try to play some minutes.“
Sterling could soon agree West Ham switch
The Hammers are flying in attacking positions right now, with Crysencio Summerville and Jarrod Bowen catching fire in claret and blue.
There will be hope that their form can continue for the rest of the season, but there is no guarantee of that.
Having strength in depth is going to be important at the London Stadium, and there won’t be many better options to have than Sterling.

He might have struggled in recent years, but given the chance to prove himself away from the bright lights of the big six, he could shine.
If Agbonlahor is right, it could be the perfect opportunity for West Ham to land a pro with over 396 Premier League appearances under his belt.
