PSG stance shared as West Ham United eye Carlos Soler transfer
PSG are open to selling midfielder Carlos Soler as West Ham are keen on signing the Spain international, according to Dharmesh Sheth.
The Sky Sports journalist reported on 15 August that the Hammers want to continue signing more players in this transfer window and their priority is now a midfielder.
The 27-year-old Spain international has three years left on his contract at Parc des Princes.
Via X, Sheth wrote: “West Ham United looking to recruit a midfielder in final 2 weeks of the window. They are interested in Paris Saint Germain’s Carlos Soler as per @ExWHUEmployee. PSG understood to be open to selling. 12 starts in all competitions last season. 3 years left on contract.”
Carlos Soler will be a decent signing for West Ham
At 27, Soler’s in his prime, offering a blend of experience and youth, which is ideal for a team looking to build for the future while competing now.
His versatility in midfield allows him to play in multiple positions, providing tactical flexibility to Julen Lopetegui’s system.
Soler’s time at PSG, despite not being a regular starter, has given him exposure to high-level football, which could translate well into the Premier League’s physical and fast-paced environment.
The Spain international has shown an ability to contribute both in terms of goals and assists, which the Hammers could utilise to bolster their midfield creativity.
His previous performances at Valencia, where he was a key player, indicate his capability to be a central figure in a team’s setup.
Moreover, his international experience with Spain underlines his quality, suggesting he can handle the pressure of top-tier football and he should be open to moving to the London Stadium.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers have now sanctioned the exits of three first-team players after a transfer development over the weekend.
