Potter crunch talks scheduled to offload West Ham star – Di Marzio
Graham Potter is set to hold talks on Sunday to discuss Jean-Clair Todibo’s future at West Ham, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Sky Sports Italia journalist reported via his website [26 January] that the Hammers decided in the last few hours that they are open to a loan deal for the French defender, with a right to buy, amid interest from Juventus.
Todibo is scheduled to meet with the new manager on 26 January to clarify his situation, with the Serie A giants ready to wait for him to return from injury in 15 days.
According to The Athletic, the defender is happy in East London following his summer move from Nice, but it now remains to be seen what his future holds at the London Stadium.
West Ham to allow Jean-Clair Todibo to leave in January?
Given that the Hammes are yet to pay the initial £34million for Todibo [BBC Sport], it is strange to see him already linked with a move away, but not strange that Juventus are involved.
Of course, there is no hiding from the fact that the 25-year-old is yet to find his feet in the Premier League, with Max Kilman and Konstantinos Mavropanos preferred over him.
However, having made over a century of appearances for Nice and earning two international caps with the France national team, his talent cannot be doubted whatsoever.
Kilman and Mavropanos are not a good enough centre-back partnership for the Premier League, which has been proven in recent matches, so getting rid of Todibo already seems foolish.

Potter has taken over at the London Stadium with a squad largely built by Julen Lopetegui and Tim Steidten, but neither of those names is about to be associated with the Hammers.
If the centre-back is allowed more time to settle into life in England, it could be a summer signing that eventually pays off, but with supporters growing restless, it might be time to hit the reset button under new leadership.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers have “all but agreed” a double behind-the-scenes exit following the payment of seven figures.
