Pedro Obiang talks to Scamacca about West Ham and London as striker considers big-money transfer – ExWHUemployee

Former Hammer Pedro Obiang is playing a role in West Ham United’s bid to sign striker Gianluca Scamacca from Sassuolo, according to ExWHUemployee.

Writing via his Patreon account on Friday (15 July), the reliable Irons insider reported that Scamacca, 23, is considering whether he wants to move to the London Stadium.

West Ham are said to be in talks with Sassuolo about a deal and “further talks are expected to happen over the next few days”.

And it seems those talks could be helped by former Irons midfielder Obiang, who spent four years in claret and blue before joining Sassuolo in 2019.

Getting closer

Gazzetta journalist Alfredo Pedulla has already claimed that Sassuolo have accepted a £34million bid from West Ham for Scamacca but there’s a chance the reporters in Italy are jumping the gun.

We’re sure that once an offer is accepted and a deal is agreed with Sassuolo, Ex will be one of the first to report it.

But either way, it doesn’t matter if a bid isn’t accepted if the player doesn’t want the move.

Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with Scamacca and while West Ham are massive, you could see why a move to the French capital would be tempting for the Italian forward.

However, if PSG aren’t going to offer up a fee that Sassuolo want then that should put us in the driving seat and Obiang is bound to be talking up the Irons to the Serie A goal machine.

He obviously won’t want to lose Scamacca as a teammate but if he’s going to go anywhere, we hope that Obiang is nudging him in the right direction.

West Ham really need a striker this summer and we’re seriously excited about this guy.
