Why Rui Pedro Silva's move to West Ham is such a 'huge boost' for Nuno Espirito Santo
Nuno Espirito Santo is set to be reunited with Rui Pedro Silva at West Ham United.
The Hammers have started their work for the summer, with exits still expected before arrivals.
Mateus Fernandes' London Stadium exit has been announced, while other players could follow him in departing E20.
However, Nuno will soon be able to welcome signings of his own ahead of the Irons' push for promotion back to the Premier League.
The West Ham boss already looks likely to keep Paco Jemez on his staff for next season, but the good news doesn't stop there.
It's now reported that Nuno will be reunited with one of his former Wolves allies in Silva.
Nuno set to be reunited with 'long-time' number two
The Telegraph's John Percy has reported on Friday that Nuno is in line for a "huge boost", as he's set to welcome Silva back to his coaching setup after their time together at Wolves.
The assistant is Nuno's "long-time" number two, and is set to leave Championship promotion rivals in Wolves to join the Hammers.
Silva was with the West Ham boss at at the Molineux Stadium and at Nottingham Forest, and now looks to be headed for E20.
It's been suggested that due to the pair's history together, the addition may only act as a bonus for West Ham in their quest for promotion back to the Premier League.
Silva was set to play a part in Cesar Peixoto's plans at the Molineux next season, but this seems to have changed.
Now, there are plenty of reasons why Hammers fans will be getting excited ahead of the new campaign.
How Nuno's relationship with Rui Pedro Silva has been described in the past
Silva only returned to Wolves in December, and was part of Rob Edwards' staff until the end of the season.
He had the role of an assistant head coach and may very well regain that status at the London Stadium under Nuno.
Silva spent time with the West Ham boss at Wolves from 2017 until 2021, helping create one of the best Championship sides in history.
According to a report from The Guardian in 2018, Silva was described as someone who had "complete trust" from Nuno, and a coach who operated in a more organisational capacity.
The two left plenty of Championship fans unhappy due to their recurring touchline celebrations during the 2017-18 campaign, but West Ham supporters will be hoping for that same magic at the London Stadium next season.
