Niclas Fullkrug given Juventus transfer answer as West Ham exit on cards

Juventus are reluctant to consider a January swoop for Niclas Fullkrug despite being offered the West Ham striker’s services, according to Il Bianco Nero.

The Italian outlet reported via their website on Sunday [8 December] that intermediaries have proposed the 31-year-old, who has had a frustrating time at the London Stadium, to the Serie A giants.

However, the Bianconeri are not keen on the idea as the Germany international does not suit Thiago Motta’s style of play, leaving his future with the Irons in doubt [Sunday People].

The Hammers shelled out £27million to acquire Fullkrug’s services from Borussia Dortmund in the summer [BBC], but the transfer has not gone according to plan so far.

Fitness issues have restricted the striker to just 74 minutes of Premier League action, although he managed to find the back of the net in the 3-1 loss to Leicester City last Tuesday [3 December].

With the East London outfit sitting just six points above the relegation zone, there has been a lot of talk about Fullkrug’s signing.

Technical director Tim Steidten, in particular, has received a lot of flak for splurging £27m on a striker on the wrong side of 30.

This has led to Fullkrug being linked with a move away from the London Stadium ahead of the January transfer window.

However, it remains to be seen if a transfer will go through, with Juventus turning down the chance to take him to the Allianz Stadium.

In other West Ham news, a David Moyes return is on the cards at the London Stadium amid a “remarkable” twist.
