Nice prepare for Jean-Clair Todibo summer transfer exit after West Ham United bid
Nice are getting ready for Jean-Clair Todibo to leave this summer despite turning down a £29million-plus offer from West Ham United, according to L’Equipe.
The French newspaper reported on their online edition (July 2) that Nice didn’t think the Hammers’ bid matched Todibo’s value, especially considering plenty of interest in the defender from other clubs including Manchester United.
And with Todibo, who joined Nice from Barcelona in 2021, attracting the attention of several clubs, Nice are preparing for a busy transfer window with anticipated player movements before the new season kicks off.
West Ham are now weighing up whether to make a fresh offer of their own for Todibo [Dharmesh Sheth, 2 July].
Is West Ham United a likely destination for Jean-Clair Todibo?
The Irons are clearly interested in signing Todibo this summer as they aim to bolster their defensive lineup under Julen Lopetegui.
The Hammers, who conceded more goals than any other team that stayed up in the Premier League last season, are keen on the Nice defender after seeing veteran Angelo Ogbonna depart.
Todibo, a former Barcelona player, has also attracted interest from other Premier League sides amidst a competitive transfer market.

Manchester United’s pursuit has hit a snag due to UEFA’s multi-club ownership rules, leaving the Hammers in a strong position to land the 24-year-old.
And, as negotiations progress, Todibo’s potential move shows the Hammers’ proactive approach to shore up their defence ahead of the upcoming campaign.
In other West Ham news, Tottenham want to sign a Premier League defender the Hammers have already held talks for.
