Newcastle ready sales to fund record-breaking Kudus deal with West Ham

Newcastle United are preparing sales from the club to allow them to sign Mohammed Kudus in a record-breaking deal from West Ham, according to the Sunday Mirror.

The newspaper reported on Sunday [15 December, page 66] that the North East outfit are readying sales at St James’ Park to enable them to make signings in the January transfer window with Kudus on the radar.

A deal for the winger, who is valued by his current club at £90million, would be a club-record signing for the Magpies, surpassing their fee of £63million for Alexander Isak.

Mohammed Kudus could depart West Ham

This is the winger’s second season with the Hammers after signing for the club in the summer of 2023.

His debut Premier League campaign was impressive as the 24-year-old scored eight goals and recorded six assists.

This term has not been as easy with a suspension keeping him out of the squad but he has still tallied up two goals and an assist from ten appearances.

In what has been a tough start to the campaign for the East London club, Kudus has certainly been a positive spark in the team.

Therefore, it would not be a surprise to see him poached by another Premier League side, especially as Newcastle are a side currently in the stages of upgrading their assets.

Due to the financial rules in the Premier League, the club will have to offload in January to make any £90m signings viable but if the Hammers could cash in, it would not be a bad bit of business for them.
