Nayef Aguerd exit decision hours away at West Ham United as new twist emerges
Real Sociedad have entered the race for West Ham United defender Nayef Aguerd, according to Santi Aouna.
The Foot Mercato journalist reported via X (29 August) that Villarreal and Al-Ittihad also retain an interest in the defender.
A decision on Aguerd’s future could arrive in the coming “hours’.
West Ham United defender Nayef Aguerd to quit the London Stadium?
It is looking increasingly likely that Aguerd will move on from the Hammers before the transfer window shuts on Friday (30 August).
However, his chosen destination still remains unclear. It appears as though the Moroccan has several options and might therefore need some time to make a decision.
A big-money move to Saudi Arabia could be on the table. However, the prospect of playing in Spain and remaining in Europe could excite the centre-back more.
Aguerd clearly has some important thinking to do. Unfortunately for the 28-year-old, he doesn’t have much time to do that thinking.
Time is ticking, and while the player’s decision will be important, West Ham will be equally as keen to see what kind of offers are on the table for Aguerd.
With such little time to go and so many options to consider, it seems as though this outgoing transfer is likely to be a priority at the London Stadium between now and the transfer window closing.
