Monchi wants Aston Villa to beat West Ham United to En Nesyri deal after rejection

West Ham United still want to sign Youssef En Nesyri from Sevilla despite already being rejected and new competition from Aston Villa, according to Diario AS.

The Spanish newspaper has reported (5 June, page 18) that the striker is the “greatest asset” that the La Liga side has to make money this summer.

The Hammers have already had one offer rejected but Julen Lopetegui still wants his former player to move to the London Stadium.

Similarly, the Moroccan is being “followed by Monchi” who signed him for Sevilla and now wants him at Aston Villa.

Sevilla wants to sell En Nesyri to “make cash” before 30 June to help balance the books and £25.5 million from the Premier League would certainly help.

West Ham United back in for Youssef En Nesyri

The Hammers are desperate for a striker this summer and have been for many years under a whole host of managers.

David Moyes always put his faith in Michail Antonio while putting new signings like Danny Ings and Gianluca Scamacca on the bench.

With Lopetegui coming in and Tim Steidten in charge of transfers, it is clear that making signings to boost the forward line is being prioritised.

The Spaniard has opted to look to sign former Sevilla striker En Nesyri who has played in Spain throughout his senior career.

This could help to slowly ease the 34-year-old Antonio out of the starting XI after making 21 starts in the Premier League last season [FotMob].

This is a move that would make sense given that the striker and the head coach have worked together before to help ease a settling-in period.

The Hammers need to find a successor to the Jamaican who has been a superb servant to the club and En Nesyri could be that man.

In other West Ham news, Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth has issued a groundbreaking claim as a Premier League rival club now wants to sign a first-team Hammers player.
