Mohamadou Kante could be part of West Ham's fire sale this summer.

The Hammers are understood to need to make £150million in sales after their relegation to the Championship.

The likes of Jarrod Bowen, Mateus Fernandes and Crysencio Summerville have question marks hanging over their futures.

Kante could now join the list of potential assets for a London Stadium exit, with the E20 side reportedly setting a fee that would seal his departure.

A new report from France on 12 June claims that the East London outfit are looking for £17.2m to sanction a sale.

It also states that figure could be reduced, or a loan could be on the cards for the 20-year-old midfielder.

Who is looking at West Ham star Mohamadou Kante?

West Ham may lose one of their most talented prospects, with clubs lining up for Kante.

The report from Foot Mercato states that 20 clubs have scouted the Hammers ace, with German, Austrian, Scottish and Premier League sides taking an interest.

Italian sides are also monitoring the situation, with Fiorentina understood to appreciate his build.

Olympique de Marseille and Monaco are also keen to bring him back to France, according to the latest on his future.

Why West Ham won't want to lose Kante

The hope was that Kante would kick on and become a regular for the Irons in the second tier, but that may not happen now.

He has made 14 appearances so far for the club, and is yet to fully earn Nuno Espirito Santo's trust.

It would be a huge shame if the Hammers were to lose their star youngster before he has even had a chance to thrive in the senior side for a prolonged period of time.

In an ideal world, he would stick around, earn a starting berth and be ready to step up to the top-flight next season after an immediate return is secured.

Football hardly ever works out the ideal way, though, so an exit could make sense for both parties, especially for the figures being mentioned.

It would help the Rush Green side with their financial issues and Kante could progress his career, but if there was compromise, like a loan, it may be the best outcome.
