Max Kilman medical update emerges ahead of West Ham United transfer from Wolves
Max Kilman has completed his West Ham medical ahead of his proposed move from Wolves, Dharmesh Sheth reports.
According to the Sky Sports journalist via Twitter on 5 July the central defender’s tests have been completed as he nears a reunion with Julen Lopetegui at the London Stadium.
The defender is a key target for the new Hammers boss this summer [Guardian, 18 June] and the club have had an offer worth £40million accepted to take him away from Molineux.
He will join Luis Guilherme and Wes Foderingham as permanent Irons signings this summer once he completes his move.
Julen Lopetegui set for top West Ham target
The Hammers defence needed work whoever was in charge this summer but the departure of David Moyes as manager appears to have only increased the interest that was already held in Kilman.
Lopetegui managed him at Wolves previously and the Spaniard will surely be delighted that Tim Steidten looks to have got him the man he wanted.
Moves have been made to add Jean-Clair Todibo from Nice as well and with both Nayef Aguerd and last season’s skipper Kurt Zouma potentially on the way out during the transfer window that move could also be pushed for.
How far the transfer budget stretches after shelling out a significant amount on Kilman, 27, remains to be seen so bringing in some fees would certainly help.
The Englishman has plenty of Premier League experience and already has a familiarity with Lopetegui so will no doubt be expected to lift the performance level of the West Ham back line immediately.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers are looking to sign multiple Manchester United players this summer.
