Mark Goldbridge ‘convinced’ as West Ham United medicals underway to sign Man United duo

Mark Goldbridge is “convinced” that a deal for West Ham to sign Manchester United duo Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay would be best for everyone involved.

Sun journalist Alan Nixon reported via Patreon on Friday (4 August) that medicals are underway for the Hammers to sign the two Old Trafford fringe players.

It is understood that the process of signing them has begun with medical records being assessed in East London.

YouTube-famous Golbridge, who hosts The United Stand and now has a show on talkSPORT, is pleased with the deal from Man United’s end and also thinks the Hammers are getting two good players.

Writing on Twitter on Friday morning, he said: “Maguire and McTominay to West Ham would be great business for all involved I’m convinced.”

That escalated quickly

Where has this come from?

West Ham had been dithering about with James Ward-Prowse and other targets since selling Declan Rice to Arsenal for over £100million.

Nothing had really progressed to an advanced stage but there were plenty of irons in the fire.

And now, all of a sudden, two medicals are underway.

It doesn’t sound as though they’re conventional medicals but Nixon reports that both are being done from a long distance.

West Ham

It could be that wherever they are right now, the Hammers have a medical person checking them out on a basic level.

There shouldn’t be any need for that really because neither are plagued with injury issues and the Hammers might as well wait until they can get a full-blown medical done.

But still, it’s better to be safe than sorry to avoid wasting time.

They’ll both be good signings.

In other West Ham news, the club have now opened advanced talks with a Premier League player who appears to be open on leaving his side this summer.
