Mario Hermoso offered to West Ham United and Aston Villa by new agents after deal collapse
West Ham have been offered a new chance to sign Mario Hermoso on a free transfer after the defender rejected other options, Area Napoli reports.
According to a report on the outlet’s website on 9 August the former Atletico Madrid man has changed his agent as he looks to find a new club after leaving La Liga, with the Hammers and Aston Villa approached in the Premier League but to no avail.
Hermoso, 29, is said to have turned down a switch to Saudi Arabia or Turkey before seeing his preferred move to Napoli fall through due to excessive demands of his former representation.
The new agent has not found success after trying the Irons and Villa and has now set up meetings with AC Milan and rivals Inter [Orazio Accomando, 9 August].
West Ham chase Jean-Clair Todibo after Max Kilman deal
Tim Steidten is pulling off an increasingly impressive transfer window at the London Stadium as he pushes once more to add Jean-Clair Todibo from Nice.
The Frenchman appeared to be one of the high-profile targets who had rejected the Hammers as he waited for Juventus to do a deal but the latest twist has him heading for the Premier League [BBC Sport, 9 August].
Julen Lopetegui also wanted Max Kilman as a priority for the defence after managing him at Wolves and got him earlier this summer so the club arguably don’t need Hermoso.
If Nayef Aguerd, who has been a target to replace the Spaniard at the Wanda Metrapolitano [Foot Mercato, 21 July] ends up following the Dubai-bound Kurt Zouma to the exit then it is possible a third centre-back signing will be required but as things stand the focus looks to be on Todibo and a right-back.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka has long been the on the brink of a move but the longer that situation fails to conclude the more doubt there will be.

Hermoso can double up as left-back cover but after Aaron Cresswell signed a surprise contract extension that isn’t as much of a pressing concern as the other side of the defence where Ben Johnson rejected offers and left for Ipswich.
If the ex-Atleti man remains without a club around the deadline and other moves have been wrapped up by then he could be a possibility, but it appears Steidten isn’t interested for now.
