Marcus Rashford transfer: ‘Significant’ West Ham update shared on Man Utd star

West Ham United have been handed a “significant boost” in their hopes to sign Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, according to GiveMeSport.

The online outlet reported on 16 January that despite several clubs across Europe keen on signing the wantaway Man United ace, Rashford has not ruled out moving to East London on loan.

With a loan deal, rather than permanent sale, to the likes of AC Milan, Barcelona or Borussia Dortmund mooted, the Irons are waiting in the wings if Rashford – who has 87 Premier League goals to his name – can’t seal a move outside the Premier League.

Given his wade demands, the Hammers can only afford to complete a late deal for Rashford if Manchester United subsidise a large portion of his pay packet, as they look to get him off the books.

Marcus Rashford transfer could be huge coup for West Ham

Signing a striker is top priority for Graham Potter before the winter window shuts on 3 February, and the Hammers bringing Rashford to the London Stadium would be a huge statement of intent.

Although Rashford is currently on a barren run of form – hence the Red Devils’ attempts to offload him – the 27-year-old is a player who is more than capable of hitting a purple patch in the right environment.

Donning the claret and blue at the head of Potter’s new setup in East London could be what unlocks another purple patch for the England international, solving West Ham’s striker problem in the process.

While Rashford isn’t an out-and-out number nine, he’s still more than capable of leading the line for the Irons, with both Niclas Fullkrug and Michail Antonio set for extended periods on the sidelines.

In poor form and on hefty wages, Rashford has it all to prove wherever he goes, and Potter could prove to be the perfect manager for one of England’s most gifted players to finally get back to his best.

In other West Ham news, a much-malinged Irons star has provided encouragement that he can be one of Graham Potter’s best.
