Marcus Rashford transfer: Jacobs shares what he understands about West Ham move
West Ham United are not “pushing” for the transfer of Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford at the moment, according to Ben Jacobs.
Rashford has been at the centre of attention for some time now with many clubs vying for his services in January.
The journalist was speaking live on talkSPORT (10 January, 06:65am) to Alan Brazil and Ray Parlour about where the future of the England international could lie amid the recent links that have surfaced (ExWHUEmployee, 9 January).
“West Ham are interested although they do feel that Rashford will leave the Premier League rather than move to one of Manchester United’s rivals if you like,” he said.
“Therefore they’re not exactly pushing as hard at the moment.”
Marcus Rashford would be an impeccable first transfer for Graham Potter at West Ham
Now that Graham Potter has officially taken over as West Ham boss, he has just over two-thirds of the January transfer window left to try and bolster his ranks so that the Hammers can make a last-minute dash to finish in the European places.
While strengthening their attack was one of the key areas that Tim Steidten and Julen Lopetegui tried to target in the summer, it still feels like it’s lacking some power.
Granted, the Spaniard didn’t offer much of a chance to Crysencio Summerville to prove his worth and Niclas Fullkrug is only just getting back to full fitness after spending most of the 2024/25 season on the sidelines.

So, there is still plenty of time left this season for them to come good but if Rashford was added to their ranks, it feels like Potter would not only be able to field his team a different way but even add some extra pace to his attacking line.
At the moment, Jarrod Bowen is sidelined due to a fractured foot, but, upon his return, if Rashford is among the Hammers’ ranks, they could form a rather dynamic duo and fire them up the table.
In other West Ham news, sources have shared why Graham Potter chose the Hammers over Everton.
