Marcus Bent: Everton midfielder Fabian Delph would fit in at West Ham
Marcus Bent wants to see West Ham sign Everton’s Fabian Delph this summer amid speculation surrounding the midfielder’s future at Goodison Park.
It has been a slow transfer window in East London with David Moyes yet to add any new outfielders to his squad.
Delph, 31, is reportedly available this summer with the Liverpool Echo reporting that Everton have told the ex-Manchester City ace he’s free to find a new club before the window closes.

The 20-times England international is in the final year of his £120,000-a-week [Football Insider] contract at Goodison and ex-Evertonian Bent feels a move to West Ham would suit him.
“He’s good enough, I think he’s good enough, I think he would fit in at West Ham,” Bent told Football Fan Cast.

Please, no
David Sullivan and Marcus Bent are like two peas in a pod – they love a has-been on massive wages.
West Ham should be done with signing players in their 30s who have shown signs of regression and are after big wages.
While we don’t know what sort of money Delph would demand if he leaves Everton this summer, there’s a chance he’ll want a similar weekly wage to what he gets at Goodison Park.
Either way, is he really good enough for the Hammers?
Declan Rice, Tomas Soucek and Mark Noble are our main central midfield options going into next season so it is an area where we should be looking to add some depth.
It will take a lot for Rice and Soucek to not start every match next term unless they need resting, are injured or are suspended. But a young understudy could be a clever addition.
If Delph is available for free – Everton might just want him off their wagebill – and prepared to take a pay cut and play a bit-part role then he might be a handy player to have.
But we’d be very disappointed if that’s the calibre of player we get this summer after such an impressive season last time out.
