Manchester United make Aaron Wan-Bissaka decision today amid West Ham United talk
West Ham United target Aaron Wan-Bissaka is in Manchester United’s 25-man squad travelling to Norway for a pre-season clash with Rosenborg, according to Chris Wheeler.
The Daily Mail journalist shared the news on X on Sunday (July 14) amid plenty of ongoing rumours regarding the defender’s potential move to West Ham.
Wan-Bissaka has supposedly also expressed strong interest in joining the Hammers this summer [CaughtOffside, July 14), as he looks to depart Old Trafford after five years.
Wheeler wrote: “Casemiro, Rashford, Mount, Wan-Bissaka & Evans in Man Utd’s 25-man squad travelling to Trondheim to face Rosenborg on Monday night.”
Aaron Wan-Bissaka would be a great addition to West Ham
Wan-Bissaka moving to West Ham could be a big step forward for the club. After his stint at Manchester United, where he didn’t quite meet all expectations, a switch to London seems like a fresh start he’s eager for.
Known for his solid defensive skills, Wan-Bissaka could bolster West Ham’s backline. And while he might not be the flashiest going forward, his ability to shut down opponents one-on-one is difficult to match.
On top of that, for just £17million [The Sun, June 21], he’s a bargain in today’s market, especially considering his Premier League experience.
His arrival could mark the beginning of a promising era under Julen Lopetegui, especially with West Ham eyeing a return to Europe. Therefore, adding Wan-Bissaka’s reliability and pace could be the boost the Hammers need.
And, given his desire to be back in London [Stretty News, July 12], this move makes sense for both the player and the club.
While he may be part of United’s squad for the start of their pre-season fixtures, that is not to say talks will not be going on behind the scenes.
In other West Ham news, Fiorentina already have replacement lined up replacement ready as Nikola Milenkovic linked to the Hammers.
