Manchester United finally give Aaron Wan-Bissaka permission for West Ham transfer

Manchester United have authorised Aaron Wan-Bissaka to travel for his West Ham United medical, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist reported via X (10 August) that a verbal agreement is in place for the right-back to seal his move to the London Stadium.

Medical tests are booked for Wan-Bissaka to undergo on Sunday (11 August). The Hammers will pay United £15million for the defender.

It has been quite the week at the London Stadium.

Supporters would probably struggle to remember a more exciting time in a transfer window.

Deal after deal has been announced with the arrivals of Crysencio Summerville, Niclas Füllkrug, Guido Rodríguez and Jean-Clair Todibo all already being confirmed by the Hammers.

And now, it looks like Wan-Bissaka’s move to the London Stadium could be sealed before the week is over.

Under David Moyes last season the Hammers had one of the worst defensive records in the Premier League. Only the three sides relegated to the Championship conceded more times than West Ham.

Therefore, one of Julen Lopetegui’s priorities will have been to sort out the defence. And with the imminent arrival of Wan-Bissaka, the Argentine has done that and then some.

Max Kilman, Todibo and Wan-Bissaka will no doubt all start for the club as part of a new-look back-four or five next season.
