Man United stance emerges on Scott McTominay January transfer amid West Ham United interest
Manchester United will not allow Scott McTominay to leave the club in January amid interest from West Ham over the summer, according to the Daily Star.
The newspaper reported on its website on Saturday (14 October) that the Scotland international has become “too important” to Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag.
It said the 26-year-old almost joined the Hammers for £50million during the summer transfer window, but that the Dutch manager wants to keep him at Old Trafford after he has been impressed by the midfielder in training and his commitment to the club.

Unlikely
It’s unlikely that West Ham would have gone back in for McTominay in January anyway after managing to secure the signings of Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse in August.
There are other areas that David Moyes would probably prefer to prioritise his spending on rather than forking out another £50million on a midfield player.
It seems a little strange that Ten Hag has had such a change of heart on the Scotsman lately, though, given that he actively tried to sell him over the summer and he has only started two games this season.

It’s likely off the back of the midfielder coming off the bench against Brentford on 7 October and scoring two goals to win the game for Man United that has put him to the forefront of the Dutchman’s mind.
While we would probably show some interest if McTominay’s availability were to change again, it does feel like the Old Trafford club are not worth dealing with after how much they’ve messed us around in the transfer market in recent times.
In other West Ham news, the club’s “top spy” has handed in his notice at the London Stadium.
