Malick Thiaw stance shared as £33.7m West Ham United transfer development emerges
AC Milan could listen to offers of between £33.7million and £38million for Malick Thiaw amid West Ham interest, according to Caught Offside.
The online source reported on Thursday [25 July] that the 22-year-old centre-back is happy with the Serie A giants but would be open to an England switch if a deal is struck with a Premier League side.
The Hammers will need to battle Newcastle United for the defender’s signature this summer, with the Magpies having tracked him since the beginning of the summer transfer window.
Malick Thiaw to join Max Kilman at West Ham United?
The German international has shown a lot of promise in Serie A since moving from Schalke in 2022, making 55 appearances for AC Milan since.
Thiaw missed several matches through injury last term, though, seeing Matteo Gabbia and Fikayo Tomori form a partnership in defence, which the 22-year-old clearly found difficult to break up.
AC Milan will be in no rush to lose the talented centre-back this summer, and with three years still left on his contract in Italy, the Serie A giants hold all the cards with the potential transfer.
Julen Lopetegui’s side, on the other hand, will be desperate to add another defender to the ranks even after the addition of Wolves captain Max Kilman.
The Irons’ defence was a huge talking point under David Moyes, with the quartet of Nayef Aguerd, Kurt Zouma, Konstantinos and Angelo Ogbonna only conceding fewer goals than Luton Town, Burnley and Sheffield United.

Aguerd, who is now being linked with a move to Atletico Madrid [Caught Offside], and Ogbonna, whose contract expired at the London Stadium last month, could leave the new manager with few options.
However, with £40million just spent on Kilman, the Hammers will likely need to sell another star before being able to afford the asking price for Thiaw this summer.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers are “best placed” to sign Sergi Roberto as a Barcelona transfer update emerges.
