Lukasz Fabianski in West Ham exit twist as new offer emerges

Lukasz Fabianski is due to leave West Ham United when his contract expires at the end of the season.

The Pole was West Ham‘s first-choice goalkeeper for a period of time earlier this season, but has been restricted to just four appearances since Graham Potter arrived.

Last week, the Irons confirmed that Fabianski will be one of four players to leave the club when their contracts run out this summer.

Therefore, the goalkeeper is just weeks away from ending his seven-year association with the East London outfit.

Fabianski rejects Legia Warsaw offer

With Fabianski set to be available on a free transfer this summer, Legia Warsaw are interested in taking him back to Poland.

Lega sporting director Michal Zewlakow has already contacted the shot-stopper to discuss a transfer, according to Meczyki.

However, the Polish news outlet reported via their website on Tuesday (13 May) that Fabianski has already informed Legia that he is not interested in re-joining them.

The 40-year-old has decided that he is staying in England, as his son is finishing his schooling in the country.

“We talked, but Fabian clearly stated that he will not return to Poland at this time”, Zewlakow told Meczyki.

Vlaidimir Coufal also set to stay in England after West Ham exit

West Ham have confirmed that Vladimir Coufal, Aaron Cresswell and Danny Ings will also be leaving at the end of the season, apart from Fabianski.

Coufal, in particular, will not be short of options, as he is already being linked with at least two Premier League clubs.

Everton and Leeds United are among the clubs interested in acquiring the right-back’s services ahead of next season.

Coufal, meanwhile, is desperate to stay in England, meaning he is likely to line up against West Ham at some point next season.

It remains to be seen if Fabianski can get a similar move to another Premier League club this summer.

Considering his age, the goalkeeper might not have as many options as Coufal.

Cresswell and Ings are also likely to stay in England, considering their nationalities.

Meanwhile, West Ham are yet to make a decision regarding Michail Antonio, whose contract at the London Stadium also expires this summer.
