Luizao agent shares West Ham United exit verdict as preferred destination named
Wagner Tretin says Luizao “won’t waste any time” pursuing a January transfer if Internacional submits a formal bid to West Ham United.
The Hammers have agreed to sanction the centre-back’s departure [Andre Hernan] and will accept a loan deal with an option to buy, with a return to Brazil the most likely outcome.
However, his agent Tretin broke his silence on the speculation, speaking to Brazilian news outlet Revista Colorada [12 December] and revealed one Brazilian Serie A side stands above the rest.
“We have received inquiries from several clubs in Brazil, including Inter. But we have nothing official from any club, only inquiries about interest and salary amounts,” Tretin said.
“Today, West Ham is on loan with an option to buy. But who doesn’t want to play for Inter? Today, we are more for the clubs than for ourselves.
“Inter actually approached us in the last transfer window and didn’t move forward, there was another preference. But we are open, if Inter makes it official, we won’t waste any time.”
Internacional could save Luizao from West Ham United
Luizao arrived in East London from Sao Paolo in 2023 with all the hype that comes with a young South American talent arriving on English shores, but his time in the Premier League has not panned out as hoped.
The 22-year-old has yet to make a senior appearance for the Hammers and has spent his time at the London Stadium lingering in the Under-21 setup.
Julen Lopetegui set the Brazilian’s future at West Ham in stone as he moved to acquire Max Kilman and Jean-Clair Todibo to bolster his centre-back ranks alongside Konstantinos Mavropanos and despite only boasting three senior options in central defence, Luizao continues to be overlooked.
Therefore, a return to his native Brazil benefits all parties, and the Irons can capitalise while the interest in the defender is high [Uriel Lugt].

The only potential stumbling block would be how long Luizao is prepared to wait for Internacional to firm up their interest – the fifth-placed Serie A outfit is clearly his preferred destination after a move in the summer transfer window failed to materialise.
Nevertheless, Luizao and his representatives are not prepared to rest on their laurels this time around, and his short-lived tenure in East London is heading towards an abrupt and disappointing end.
