Luis Guilherme signing raises eyebrows inside West Ham United amid Lopetegui fears

Luis Guilherme has raised eyebrows at West Ham after failing to impress Julen Lopetegui after his £25million move from Palmerias, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper reported to their online edition on 24 October that the Hammers manager fears the 18-year-old is some way off being able to feature regularly at senior level.

This has raised eyebrows internally at the London Stadium given the £25m spent by Tim Steidten which has resulted in just four minutes of Premier League action.

Julen Lopetegui unimpressed by Luis Guilherme at West Ham

The Brazilian completed a move to East London over the summer as part of a busy window in which Steidten had a big part.

It is safe to say that some of these signings haven’t paid off with the likes of Niclas Fullkrug having a disaster in his start to life in England.

There was excitement around the supporters when the Germany international joined the club, just as there was when Guilherme came in.

Fans were more than amazed to see their side bringing in a teenage Brazilian talent from Palmerias in a deal worth £25m.

Despite his age, there was still an expectation that he could come in and have a positive impact on the side and learn from the likes of Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus.

It just hasn’t worked out for the youngster with the Irons and it appears that the hierarchy and Lopetegui are growing impatient with the Steidten signing.

With the fee involved and the level of talent that he could have, the Hammers need to work out how to make this signing work.
