Luis Guilherme had West Ham exit blocked by overseas FA after deal agreed
Porto verbally closed a deal to sign Luis Guilherme from West Ham United on deadline day, according to Felipe Silva.
However, the UOL journalist, reporting via his personal X account on 4 February, added that the Portuguese club did not have the time to get the deal across the line.
The Portuguese Federation’s regulations state that the player must be in the country before midnight for the transfer to go through on deadline day.
West Ham United to keep Luis Guilherme amid Porto and Feyenoord interest
Porto surely have no chance to sign Guilherme now as the winter transfer window in Portugal closed on Monday, 3 February, like in England.
Funnily enough, the attacker was on the pitch for the Irons in their 2-1 Premier League defeat against Chelsea just an hour before the window ended in England.
However, Feyenoord have been credited with an interest in signing the Brazilian before the window slams shut in the Netherlands on Tuesday, 4 February [Voetbal International]
Graham Potter’s side, though, might choose to avoid further drama by deciding to keep Guilherme at the club for the time being, at least unless Feyenoord make an offer they cannot refuse.
West Ham forked out £25.5million to sign the 18-year-old from Palmeiras in the summer [BBC] and already seem to have given up on him.

Guilherme appears to have gotten a second chance to prove himself in East London after seeing a last-gasp transfer to Porto collapse on Monday.
It is now up to him to make sure he grabs his chances with both hands when they come.
