Lucas Paqueta work permit to be processed for West Ham United transfer as he touches down in London
Lyon attacker Lucas Paqueta is in London to undergo a medical with West Ham after agreeing personal terms for a move to the Premier League, according to Dharmesh Sheth.
Writing via his personal Twitter account on Sunday morning (28 August), the Sky Sports News journalist reported that the 25-year-old is having a visa and work permit processed in order for him to complete the move.
Sheth adds that in order for the Brazil attacking midfielder to make his West Ham debut against Tottenham on Wednesday (31 August), he’ll need to be registered by midday on Tuesday (30 August).
London derby debut?
If all goes well, Paqueta could make his debut for West Ham against Tottenham on Wednesday night at the London Stadium.
It will be a massive occasion for him to do that and we have no doubt that he’ll be able to shine in those sorts of matches in claret and blue.
There’s a good chance that if his visa, work permit and medical are all in the process of being sorted out already then we would expect the midday registration deadline on Tuesday to be easily within reach.
But if he is able to play, should he start?

David Moyes has to be underwhelmed with his team’s start to the Premier League season.
While we beat Viborg convincingly over two legs, that would have been on the cards even if Moyes played purely his Under-21s team.
In the Premier League, the defeats to Nottingham Forest and Brighton were unacceptable.
Between now and the Spurs game, we play Aston Villa so the team selection for the London derby is bound to depend slightly on what happens in the West Midlands on Sunday.
