Lucas Paqueta ‘requested’ to leave West Ham United amid ‘unusual’ ploy from Real Madrid star
Eduardo Camavinga has “requested” Lucas Paqueta leaves West Ham United for Real Madrid with his social media activity, according to Bolavip Brasil.
The Brazilian news outlet reported [13 October] that Camavinga posted a compilation of the Hammers star on his Instagram story [13 October], which appears to be a ploy to get Paqueta to switch East London for the LaLiga giants.
Paqueta has been the subject of intense criticism for his performances both with the national side and in the Premier League this season as the FA charges for spot-fixing continue to linger over the midfielder.
The report adds that the social media posts have left Paqueta at the centre of an “unusual situation”.

The situation regarding Paqueta and Real Madrid could not arrive at a worse time for West Ham, with Julen Lopetegui seemingly still fighting for his job at the London Stadium.
Lopetegui’s side returned to winning ways against Ipswich Town before the international break, with Paqueta back on the scoresheet, but the Spaniard’s future is far from secure after a sub-par start to the season.
The Brazilian has struggled to adapt to the new style of play in East London. Alongside Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus, the attacking trio have failed to replicate last year’s performances thus far for Lopetegui and the side sits slumped in twelfth place after seven matches.
Manchester City came close to prying the 27-year-old away from East London in 2023 but ultimately killed the move after the FA charges came to light.
Paqueta is expected to learn his fate from the charges at the end of the season and the verdict will decide where his footballing future lies, whether that be at the London Stadium or elsewhere but certainly not Real Madrid.
