Lucas Paqueta exit update emerges at West Ham United as Flamengo consider new transfer offer
Flamengo have not given up on a deal to sign West Ham United midfielder Lucas Paqueta this summer, according to Julio Miguel Neto.
The journalist who features on Rubro News TV reported via X on Sunday (14 July) that the Brazilian club are considering making a new offer for the Brazil international to try and prize him away from East London.
Flamengo are exploring their options to try and make their offer more appealing to the Hammers to try and boost their chances of being successful in their negotiations and secure Paqueta’s signature.
The attacking midfielder is continuing to help the Brazilian club secure the transfer for at least a year-long loan after their initial proposal was rejected by Julen Lopetegui’s side [Sean Whetstone, 4 July].

Paqueta’s future with or without West Ham this summer could not be less clear as the prospect of a potentially big lifetime ban from football continues to hang over his head having been charged with breaches of the FA’s betting rules.
The Irons are fearful that the Brazilian international may never be allowed to play again and therefore they may be eager to sell him permanently if the right offer is submitted by Flamengo or another club.
But while the midfielder is available for selection, the Hammers will be eager to keep him in East London as he has the potential to be a real match-winner under Lopetegui and the new coaching team at the London Stadium.
It seems unlikely therefore that Flamengo will see their new offer accepted if it is another loan proposal, as that will offer very few benefits to West Ham in the long run other than getting his wage off of the books for a year.
Unless the Brazilian club submit a big-money offer for a permanent transfer, it seems unlikely Paqueta will be going anywhere before the new season gets underway.
