Lopetegui wants to sign En-Nesyri to save West Ham job amid £17 transfer news

Julen Lopetegui wants a reunion with Fenerbache forward Youssef En-Nesyri at West Ham United, acccording to the Sunday Mirror.

The newspaper reported via their print edition [page 67, 24 November], the Spaniard believes En-Nesyri could be the solution to turning around his fortunes in East London after a successful partnership with Sevilla.

The Moroccan rejected a move to West Ham in favour of Fenerbache last summer but has since failed to settle into life in the Turkish Super Lig and will be available for a loan move in the upcoming January transfer window.

Julen Lopetegui could finally land Youssef En-Nesyri for West Ham United

Tim Steidten has been left to rue his transfer dealings at West Ham this year as his failures have become a hot topic of discussion amid the chaos in East London.

Niclas Fullkrug has struggled to overcome an Achilles injury, and only a few months after his acquisition from Borussia Dortmund, patience is wearing thin with the German at the London Stadium, and he could be looking at a premature exit.

Regardless of what happens with Fullkrug, the Irons will inevitably be forced to strengthen again in the winter transfer window, particularly the forward line, as Danny Ings is seemingly prepared to push for a move after falling out of favour under Lopetegui.

Therefore, En-Neysri’s availability provides the perfect opportunity for the Spaniard to kill two birds with one stone, shift the deadwood out of East London and bring in his reported number one target last summer.

The 27-year-old has only managed to score three goals in 12 outings for Fenerbache but was a prolific goalscorer in La Liga, netting 16 goals in 33 appearances for Sevilla and would undoubtedly provide the killing edge that the Irons have lacked all year.

However, Lopetegui faces the real possibility of dismissal before the window opens, with the upcoming clashes against Newcastle United and Arsenal make or break for his future after a disastrous start to his tenure [The Guardian].

Lopetegui should prioritise securing his own status at West Ham in the meantime, as his removal would subsequently scupper any remaining interest in En-Neysri.
