Lopetegui signs off on Ward-Prowse exit from West Ham United
James Ward-Prowse snubbed the chance to join two other Premier League sides in order to move to Nottingham Forest on loan from West Ham, according to GiveMeSport (30 August).
The online news outlet reported that the central midfielder had the chance to link up with Everton or former club Southampton but opted for a temporary switch to the City Ground, with the move now imminent.
They added that Hammers boss Julen Lopetegui signed off on the deal because he can now focus on bringing in Carlos Soler from Paris Saint-Germain.
James Ward-Prowse makes his choice as West Ham exit imminent
David Ornstein reported (30 August) that Ward-Prowse was on his way to Nottingham for a medical but interestingly there is no option or obligation to make the transfer permanent.
It says a lot about Ward-Prowse’s quality that he had a clutch of clubs looking to sign him and after scoring seven goals and registering seven assists in his debut campaign at the London Stadium it’s easy to see why.

The arrival of Guido Rodriguez and the likely signing of Soler (Fabrizio Romano) mean that first-team opportunities are going to be extremely difficult to come by this season, though, and it makes complete sense for the player to go and be a regular and also for the Irons to clear space in the squad.
It feels unlikely he would return to West Ham in 12 months time but if he is a success at Forest then you feel like a permanent transfer is going to be on the cards for him in 12 months time.
