Liverpool transfer stance on West Ham ace Mohammed Kudus shared as alternatives emerge

Liverpool are targeting Brentford’s Bryan Mbuema and Bournemouth ace Antoine Semenyo as well as West Ham star Mohammed Kudus, according to teamTALK.

It was reported by Sky Sports journalist Sacha Tavolieri (18 November) that the Reds are among the clubs monitoring 24-year-old Ghana forward Kudus as a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah.

However, teamTALK say that the Reds are unlikely to fork out a reported £85million exit clause in Kudus’ contract.

They added that sources have suggested that Mbuemo and Semenyo are consequently also on Liverpool’s radar as they weigh up their options.

West Ham hold the cards with Mohammed Kudus sale

It seems likely that one day in the not-too-distant future that West Ham will make quite a sizeable profit on the £38million they forked out to bring Kudus to the London Stadium from Ajax back in 2023.

However, the simple fact is the Hammers are in a seeming position of strength when it comes to Kudus, especially given the hefty exit clause he reportedly has inserted into his contract.

It means that the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal can show all the interest they like in his services, ultimately they will have to stump up a lot of cash to get him out of the London Stadium.

So, it means the Irons either keep hold off a top talent for a little while longer or they make a huge profit on an excellent player that they can reinvest in the squad.

It’s a win-win situation in regards to Kudus’ situation and that’s a great position to be in from a Hammers perspective.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers are eyeing a move for a Championship midfielder who’s out of contract in June.
