Liverpool stance on Mohammed Kudus transfer shared amid West Ham United exit links
Liverpool are not yet planning a move for a new winger despite transfer links with West Ham United’s Mohammed Kudus, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The transfer specialist reported via his Daily Briefing (9 October) that while the Reds are watching several players, there is nothing concrete in the links between the Reds and the Hammers star.
Arne Slot’s side are just understood to be exploring the transfer market at this stage as they continue to hold talks with Mohammed Salah about a potential contract extension at Anfield.
Writing in his Daily Briefing, Romano said: “With the Salah situation being what it is, we’re unsurprisingly seeing a lot of Liverpool transfer rumours about new wingers.
“It’s true that they are watching several players, but I don’t have any concrete updates yet on specific targets, despite the links with Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi and West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus.
“Similarly, with Kudus and Liverpool, there is currently nothing concrete to report.
“There will be 100 links per day on Liverpool with Salah out of contract but Liverpool are not in discussions or planning any move yet, it’s just a moment where they explore the market and still talk to Salah about the contract.
“So nothing really concrete on Kudus now, it’s not an October/November topic for sure.”
Will Mohammed Kudus exit West Ham amid Liverpool transfer rumours?
Hammers supporters will of course be worried about the possibility of Kudus leaving the London Stadium in the near future, but for now, it doesn’t appear as though a move to Anfield is imminent at this stage.
With Salah’s future with the Reds unclear beyond the end of the season, it is only natural that Liverpool will be assessing the transfer market for any potential replacements in the event that the Egyptian winger departs.
The Irons have put themselves in a position where they have at least guaranteed that they will pocket a good fee for the Ghana international’s services if he is to leave, with a release clause believed to be included in his contract [Sean Whetstone, 2 July].

Hopefully, Liverpool will decide that the fee is a little too rich for their taste and look elsewhere for their Salah replacement next summer.
Kudus is one of the most exciting players in Julen Lopetegui’s ranks and it would be a shame if he were to leave the London Stadium.
