Leon Goretzka not interested in Bayern Munich exit as West Ham United ‘Dream’ scenario emerges – Sky Sports

Leon Goretzka is not interested in leaving Bayern Munich this summer as West Ham see him as their “dream” signing, according to Florian Plettenberg.

Writing on his personal Twitter account (18 July), the Sky Sports Germany journalist shared the player’s stance on a transfer away from the Allianz Arena this summer after links emerged.

But while West Ham see him as their “Dream” signing to replace Declan Rice in the centre of midfield, Goretzka has no interest in leaving Bayern and his agents aren’t negotiating with any other clubs at this stage.

“Leon Goretzka, internally he has made clear that he doesn’t want to leave FC Bayern this summer,” he wrote (18 July).

“His agents are not open for negotiations with other clubs at this stage.

“Manchester United is still monitoring him as revealed – but Man Utd is more focused on Amrabat now.

“Goretzka, dream target for West Ham.

“Tuchel is planning with Kimmich and Laimer at this stage. Instead, Goretkza will face the challenge.”

Dream

As soon as the link to Goretzka emerged, it was clear that it would be a long shot and a bit of a dream signing.

But sometimes dreams come true and it’s always worth checking on a deal if there is interest there, because it’s now clear that the player isn’t in his manager’s plans right now.

West Ham

That could open up all sorts of opportunities for a transfer, but Goretzka is a regular for the German national team and up until now had been considered a regular starter for one of the biggest teams in the world.

A move to West Ham would likely be seen as a step down by the player, especially considering he is only 28 and still in the prime of his career. Cleverly it seems as though the club aren’t putting too much effort in right now as it seems unlikely.

But should the player change his mind you can expect David Sullivan and Tim Steidten to move to make their “dream” come true, and bring a world class player to the London Stadium.
