Lenny Noble's latest West Ham milestone will have fans dreaming
Lenny Noble looks set for a bright future at West Ham, with the next step in his development already being taken.
The 16-year-old, who is the son of Hammers legend and current sporting director Mark Noble, is in the academy.
He will hope to eventually make it to the first team and expand on his family legacy at the London Stadium.
West Ham have made several moves to bolster their youth ranks in recent months.
The latest one will be the most exciting, though, as it keeps Noble's chances of a senior berth alive.
West Ham fans will be dreaming that he can step onto the pitch and become an icon like his father for Nuno Espirito Santo's side.
What was West Ham's Lenny Noble announcement?
The Irons announced the latest batch of scholars for their Under-18 side on Friday.
Noble was the name that will stick out from the list of 14 players, given his family connection to the club.
He is a central midfielder, just like his dad, who has been in the Rush Green academy for nine years.
Felix Lewis-Ayesta, Jack Tomlin, Glenn Macaj, Reon Smith and Arnaldo Ugate, Charles Gadsdon, Isaac Thomas, Mitchell Brown, Christian Lila, Zak Magowan, Frankie Day, Christlife Mandungu and Bailey Pammenter are the others.
There will be more expectation placed on Noble's shoulders, though.
Why Mark Noble is the perfect example for any youth player at West Ham
Noble senior is one of the most highly regarded academy graduates in E20 history, affectionately known as 'Mr. West Ham'.
He joined the Irons aged 11 and played 550 times for the East London club, with 62 goals and 58 assists in that time.
His loyalty and longevity make him a perfect example to any player trying to breakthrough with the Hammers.
His son will know more than most what it means to wear the claret and blue shirt, and hopefully he can continue what his dad built.
The fact that he is a part of the hierarchy surely do his chances the world of good, but now he has to prove that he is good enough for the first-team.
He has the perfect example to follow, and will have been drilled on what it takes to succeed already, now, he has to show that he has taken that advice on board.
