Leeds United make confidentiality request to West Ham United over Summerville

West Ham United have been asked by Leeds United to keep the transfer fee for Crysencio Summerville private, according to Sean Whetstone.

Writing via the West Ham Football account on X [4 August], Hammers-focused writer Whetstone added that the Irons will honour that request.

The reasons behind Leeds’ request have not been disclosed, but it has previously been reported the Irons will pay in the region of £20million to £25million [Florian Plettenberg, 3 August].

Crysencio Summerville transfer fee to be kept quiet

Leeds may well want to keep the transfer fee quiet, but it is already common knowledge how much the Irons are paying for the Dutchman.

While the fee could climb a fair bit with add-ons included, the initial upfront fee is a bargain as far as the Hammers are concerned.

It is likely that Leeds do not want other clubs knowing how much they have received for Summerville as they may be forced to pay over the odds for targets.

Supporters will just be glad that this deal is now officially over the line, having seen a few transfers fall through late on so far this summer.

Indeed, the Nico Fullkrug move continues to drag on, despite it looking like an announcement was close a couple of days ago.

With Summerville through the London Stadium door, the United squad is starting to look very strong indeed.
