Krisztián Hegyi ‘likely’ to leave West Ham amid Wes Foderingham transfer update

Goalkeeper Krisztián Hegyi is “likely” to leave West Ham this summer, according to The Standard.

The newspaper reported online (30 May) that one of Nathan Trott or Hegyi is set to leave the club.

It comes as the Hammers close in on the signing of Wes Foderingham on a free transfer.

The 33-year-old is expected to act as cover for Alphonse Areola and Lukasz Fabianski.

Joseph Anang – last season’s third choice – is set to be released.

Julen Lopetegui is set to oversee a goalkeeper reshuffle at West Ham United

Never mind the managerial merry-go-round, it looks as if there is a goalkeeping merry-go-round going on at the London Stadium.

Trott’s stay with West Ham is set to be extended by two years.

As a result, it looks likely that Hegyi will be the goalkeeper to leave this summer.

It would be a shame for the 21-year-old, who has never really been handed a chance to prove himself in East London.

Hegyi came through the ranks at Rush Green, making 55 appearances for the club’s Under-21s.

He is yet to make his senior debut for the Hammers, having spent last season out on loan.

After joining Stevenage at the beginning of the 2023/24 campaign, Hegyi was recalled in January and sent to FC Den Bosch.

The shot-stopper was a regular in the Netherlands, making 17 appearances in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie.
