Karim Adeyemi stance on West Ham United shared amid Borussia Dortmund exit speculation

West Ham United have been unable to make an impression on Borussia Dortmund attacker Karim Adeyemi, according to TuttoSport.

The Italian outlet reported on its website on Sunday (28 July) that while the Irons and Premier League rivals Aston Villa have come forward for the German international, he has not been convinced by either side.

Adeyemi is understood to be a target for Juventus as well and the Dortmund star is set to be looking for the next step in his career with a move to the Serie A or Premier League appealing most to him.

Reports have suggested the Hammers have held talks with the 22-year-old’s representatives over a potential summer transfer alongside several Premier League clubs including Chelsea and Tottenham [HITC, 16 July].

Will Karim Adeyemi exit Borussia Dortmund amid West Ham United transfer rumours?

This summer has been one of frustration already for Julen Lopetegui and a lot of West Ham fans, with several targets either not ending up at the London Stadium or heading to other clubs instead.

How interested the Hammers were in signing Adeyemi is up for debate, but the German forward would have added a new dimension to the Irons’ attack with genuine pace and a rawness that makes him so exciting to watch.

But with no European football for the first time in a number of years, the Irons will have to change how they approach the transfer window as they won’t necessarily be as attractive a prospect to players as they previously have been.

That doesn’t mean they can’t still get their hands on some transfer targets. Jhon Duran appears to be very keen on a move to the London Stadium [Fabrizio Romano, 25 July] and the Irons did eventually win the race for Max Kilman’s signature.

However, it would be a surprise if Adeyemi is playing his football in claret and blue come the end of the summer transfer window.
