Juventus to stick Arthur on transfer list amid £17.1m West Ham United transfer news

Juventus are looking to sell Arthur this summer and after a positive season with Fiorentina, West Ham United are said to be interested, according to TuttoJuve.

Most people will know the Brazilian for his ill-fated loan spell with Liverpool in 2022 which did not go well.

He has turned his career around with a loan spell this season in Florence which has sparked plentiful rumours about a move this summer.

In a report on TuttoJuve’s website, it has been said that Juventus are looking to let the midfielder go in the summer. There is interest from the Premier League as Arsenal, Everton and West Ham “appreciate” him and may make a move.

The Old Lady are “looking for resources” and the sale of the former Barcelona man appears to be their first port of call.

Should West Ham United make a move for Arthur?

The Brazilian made just one appearance for the Reds in his first spell in the Premier League which may not bode well moving forward.

He has since registered 37 appearances while on loan in Serie A with Fiorentina and has already featured 27 times in the league [FotMob].

Arthur hasn’t managed to score a goal as of yet but has made an assist as he has regularly lined up as a defensive midfielder.

According to Fbref, he registers as one of the best in Europe for attempted passes and pass completion with 67.57 and 91.20%.

His defensive stats aren’t amazing and rank about average for all midfielders in Europe’s top five leagues across the year.

These statistics don’t point towards a David Moyes-style player who has preferred more industrious defensive midfielders.

David Moyes has largely has a successful second spell in charge of West Ham United.

With West Ham fans potentially thinking about a departure for the manager in the summer, Arthur may suit a new coach with a mindset built around passing football.
