Juventus to ‘mock’ Inter Milan in bid to sign Tomas Soucek as low offer mooted for West Ham United star
Juventus are set to “mock” Inter Milan in their bid to sign West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek, according to CalcioMercato.
The Italian news outlet reported on its website on Wednesday (18 October) that the Czech Republic international has a valuation of £30.5million, but he could be available for less given that his contract expires at the end of this season despite the Hammers having the option of another year.
It said the Serie A giants may make a lower offer to the Irons as Inter are currently trying to “enter into a negotiation” with the 28-year-old to sign on a free transfer at the end of his deal at the London Stadium.

Cash in
It could be best for West Ham to cash in on Soucek while his value is still fairly high if he isn’t willing to sign a new deal at the club.
The midfielder has been a great servant for the Hammers over the past few years, but he has had a few questionable performances over the past few months to suggest that he wouldn’t be a major loss.
The Irons simply can’t afford to let his contract run down and to be holding onto a player who isn’t fully committed to staying in East London for the long haul.

It would be interesting if Juventus do firm up their interest with an offer for the Czech because that would potentially force Inter into making an offer and create a bidding war between the two Italian sides.
There is still a chance for Soucek to pen a new deal and remain with us, but it really comes down to whether the two parties want that to happen or not.
In other West Ham news, a club’s January stance on a player the Hammers wanted to sign has emerged.
