Juventus could still sell Samuel Iling-Junior to West Ham United despite new contract update

West Ham could still sign Juventus forward Samuel Iling-Junior despite a contract update emerging, according to CalcioMercato.

The Italian news outlet reported on its website on Thursday (28 March) that the Serie A giants are now one step away from formalising its proposal for a new deal with the England U-21 international.

But it added that this development doesn’t exclude a possible sale from taking place if the 20-year-old becomes “unhappy” again like he was a few months ago, with the Hammers joined in their interest by fellow Premier League sides Tottenham and Everton.

Could West Ham sign Samuel Iling-Junior from Juventus?

This is quite an interest development as Iling-Junior’s situation with Juventus seems to be changing every few months.

The former Chelsea academy product, who moved to Turin in 2020, was previously unhappy about his lack of minutes in the side.

But his game time has improved in recent weeks, having made his first two Serie A starts of the season for the third-placed team.

It feels as though a new deal is probably just for the Italians to protect their asset and his potential value for a transfer, meaning a move away wouldn’t be completely off the table this summer.

But while he is playing games for the club and remains a highly thought of talent, it would probably be difficult for the Hammers to persuade to make the move to the London Stadium.
